タイトル：Systems and Strategies of Research Grants Abroad ～海外の研究グラント獲得にむけて～

概要：研究者が国際的なプレゼンスを高めていくためには、国際論文を出版したり国際学会で発表したりするだけでなく、海外の研究グラントにも積極的に挑むことが望まれます。しかし、海外の研究グラントは複雑な申請プロセスに加え、激しい競争下にあることから、申請への心理的ハードルが高くなりがちです。そこで本ウェビナーでは、米国のNIHやNSFといった海外の著名なグラント事例をとりあげ、グラントのしくみや申請のプロセスについて構造的に理解を深めるとともに、グラントを獲得するためのヒントを学んでいきます。

8月2日（金）に開催されました、ノーベル賞受賞者梶田教授のライブトーク「How to Manage Your Research in a Team ～研究マネジメントあるある問題とその対処法～」が、YouTubeに公開されました。研究室や研究プロジェクトを立ち上げたばかりの研究者にとって、研究マネジメントおよびその対処法は大きな課題となりえます。そうした状況に対し、梶田先生ご自身が経験されてきた具体的な事例を踏まえながら、チームの率い方・研究の進め方・成果の上げ方等アドバイスいただきました。是非ご視聴ください。

2-2. 東北大学TI-FRIS 「学際融合研究交流会」第40回TI-FRIS Hub Meeting」が開催されました

第40回TI-FRIS Hub Meetingにおいて、東北大学の山根結太先生が「「スピン」を利用した新たな電力変換 / A new route to electricity generation based on quantum spins」というテーマで発表し、TI-FRISフェローやTI-FRIS参画大学の教職員や学生など、88名がオンサイトとオンラインで参加して、活発な議論が行われました。学際融合グローバル研究者育成東北イニシアティブ（TI-FRIS）では、若手研究者が学際融合研究の重要性を理解し、活用できる研究者に成長するのをサポートする機会として、幅広い分野の研究者が交流する学際融合研究交流会（Hub Meeting）を、東北大学学際科学フロンティア研究所（FRIS）と合同で月1回開催しています。発表は「自分の分野の何が面白いのか」「自分の分野の研究方法とは」「自分の分野内だけで解けそうにない問題の紹介」などに重点が置かれます。

2-1. Live Event with Nobel Laureate Professor Kajita: “Researcher Professional Development Vol. 27” uploaded to official YouTube channel.

The event we hold on Friday, August 2 is now on YouTube channel. Event overview: Effective research management is a significant challenge for Researchers who have just started their laboratories or research projects. Many may feel uncertain about how to lead their teams, advance their research, and achieve results. In this webinar, we will welcome Dr. Takaaki Kajita, who received the Nobel Prize in Physics in 2015. Dr. Kajita will provide advice on the concerns and questions you may have, sharing specific examples from his own experiences in a live Q&A format.

2-2. TI-FRIS Event: The 40th TI-FRIS Hub Meeting (Hybrid event) has concluded.

At the event, Dr. Yuta Yamane of Tohoku University gave a presentation on “A new route to electricity generation based on quantum spins”. A lively discussion ensued with 88 participants, including TI-FRIS Fellows, faculty, staff, and students from TI-FRIS participating universities, participating on-site and online. The Tohoku Initiative for Fostering Global Researchers for Interdisciplinary Sciences (TI-FRIS) has been holding the Hub Meeting, an interdisciplinary research exchange meeting where researchers from a wide range of fields interact, as an opportunity to help young researchers understand the importance of interdisciplinary research and develop into researchers who can make use of it, at Tohoku University's Interdisciplinary Science The Hub Meeting is held once a month jointly with the Frontier Research Institute for Interdisciplinary Sciences (FRIS) at Tohoku University. Presentations focus on “what is interesting in your field,” “what are the research methods in your field,” and “introduction of problems that cannot be solved only within your field.
